How to Upgrade fedora 10 to fedora 11 using Yum


Upgrade FC10 to FC11 using Yum

Online up gradation of fedora server
It is only possible to upgrade to Fedora 11 from an updated Fedora 10. Older systems must be upgraded to Fedora 10 first.
On fedora 10 console, use the following commands to upgrade.

#yum update -y
#yum clean all
#rpm -Uvh http://mirrors.kernel.org/fedora/releases/11/Fedora/i386/os/Packages/fedora-release-notes-11.0.0-2.fc11.noarch.rpm http://mirrors.kernel.org/fedora/releases/11/Fedora/i386/os/Packages/fedora-release-11-1.noarch.rpm
#yum update -y

Error: Missing Dependency: libssl.so.7 is needed by package httpd-tools-2.2.14-1.fc10.i386 (installed)
Error: Missing Dependency: libcrypto.so.7 is needed by package httpd-tools-2.2.14-1.fc10.i386 (installed)
Error: Missing Dependency: libssl.so.7 is needed by package 1:mod_ssl-2.2.14-1.fc10.i386 (installed)
Error: Missing Dependency: libcrypto.so.7 is needed by package 1:mod_ssl-2.2.14-1.fc10.i386 (installed)

Remove these packages and rerun the update

#rpm -e mod_ssl httpd-tools –nodeps
#yum clean all
#yum update -y

reboot the server
#reboot

Now reinstall the uninstalled packages
#yum install mod_ssl httpd-tools –skip-broken
